The Adult Reading Center’s 5th Annual Red Carpet Gala to benefit students will take place Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 2320 Hatfield Road in Pearland at 7 p.m. The annual event will feature a casino provided by SW Casino Productions, DJ entertainment, a live and silent auction, and a catered dinner.

Dinner will be by Grazia Italian Kitchen in Pearland.

A wine pull will be part of the evening fun and will offer participants a chance to win a bottle of wine valued between $15 and $50.

The gala helps fund the Adult Reading Center’s adult English literacy, GED, citizenship, computer literacy and workforce development programs which are all provided free of charge to the students enrolled.

“All of our adult learners at the Reading Center benefit from the programs directly funded by the proceeds from the Gala. The adult learners in our programs tell us about being able to get better jobs, promotions, and being able to help their children with their homework,” Dale Pillow, President and CEO of the Center, said.

The mission of the Adult Reading Center is to transform lives through education. Their vision is to achieve 100% literacy through 100% community engagement.
