Rebecca Jane Gaston Dye, 93, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away on September 27, 2017. She was born March 17, 1924 in Noxapater, Mississippi, the eldest daughter of Robert T. Gaston and Gladys Shaw Ligon Gaston. She grew up in various towns in northern Mississippi as her father worked for the Grenada Banking System. As a young woman during World War II, she worked in a local factory that supplied parts for aircraft for the war effort. Early in their marriage, she taught high school science and home economics until the birth of her first child. From that time on, she was a devoted mother, daughter, wife, sister, and friend to many. She was a talented homemaker and many friends enjoyed her pound cakes and other southern specialties. For many years she was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church in Sugar Land, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mable Young Gaston; and brother, Robert T. Gaston, Jr. Survivors include her sister Mrs. Bobbie Kenna of McComb, Miss.; three daughters, Rebecca Dye Parkhill (husband Trent) of Winchester, Mass., Margaret Dye Baker (husband Wesley) of Friendswood, Texas, and Robin Dye-Martin (husband Don) of Richmond, Virginia.
