Local dignitaries, FVFD volunteers and the community gathered Saturday, Oct. 14 for the dedication of the Kenneth M. Camp Fire Station (Fire Station 1). Activities included equipment demonstrations, station/apparatus wet down, push-in, hose uncoupling, and a mini firefighter challenge for the kids. The dedication was combined with the fire department’s annual open house where visitors were treated to pizza and cake. The fire station is named after Kenneth M. Camp, a former City Councilmember and Mayor of Friendswood, and 40 year volunteer with the department. (Photos by Kathy Hickey)
