City Manager Roecker announces his retirement

City Manager Roger C. Roecker has announced his retirement from the City of Friendswood at the recent November meeting of the City Council.

Roecker has been City Manager for almost 10 years. Prior to this he served Friendswood as Director of Finance and Director of Administrative Services. In total at retirement, he will have worked for Friendswood for 29 years.

His retirement will be effective in April.

“In February I will celebrate 29 years with the city and in April, 10 years as city manager,” Roecker said to Council. “I commit to and promise you that I will continue to do everything I can to continue to make this great city what it is today. I will help in any way possible during this transition period.”

Roecker received a standing ovation at the meeting from both Council and the audience.
