Last year’s City Christmas tree was lit by both Santa and Mayor Reid. This year the pair is getting ready for the 2017 tree, sure to be big, brighter and better for this year.

Santa and Mayor Tom Reid will partner at the Hometown Christmas Festival Dec. 1 for a traditional lighting of the City’s Christmas Tree at 7 p.m. at Pearland Town Center.

The large tree is at the front of the pavilion.

It’s all part of the Pearland Hometown Christmas Festival from 7 – 10 p.m. and the community is invited.

Horse and carriage rides will be available sponsored by UHCL Pearland campus.

There will be real snow in the HEB Winter Wonderland for all to experience. Live music will be part of the fun on the Westside Veterinary Stage.

Children will also have opportunities to visit with Santa.

The fun doesn’t end at 10 p.m.

More activities are offered the next day.

Fun continues with a Holiday Gift Market on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. With the market are local performances, and milk and cookies with Santa presented by Night Light Pediatric Urgent Care.

Additional events include a trackless train, inflatables, and yard games.

The Hometown Christmas festival is presented by City of Pearland, Parks & Recreation and Pearland Town Center. The festival is free.

Pearland Town Center is located at 11200 Broadway St. in Pearland.
