Holiday merriment is planned for the Purple Box Theater’s “Christmas Cabaret” Dec. 8, 9 and 10.

The theater invites the community to take a break from shopping and craziness of the season and join them for a fun evening of holiday happenings.

Stockings will be filled with familiar musical treats and unexpected surprises that would even warm the heart of Ebenezer Scrooge.

The show is produced for all ages and will run on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and at 3 p.m. on Sunday. All tickets are $12.

The Purple Box Theater is located at 1309 W. Parkwood in Friendswood. The box office opens 30 minutes before the show.

The theater has recently announced its 2018 season of adult productions. The list consists of “One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest,” “Into the Woods,” “Barefoot In the Park,” “On Golden Pond,” “Rocky Horror Show” and “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

The Purple Box not only offers community theater but also adult, teen and kids theater classes.
