Over 60 Special Friends members (intellectually and physically challenged individuals) with their families participated in a Christmas hay ride on Monday, Dec. 11.

They were led in decorated trailer sleds safely through the streets of Friendswood with the assistance of Friendswood Police, the Friendswood Volunteer Fire Dept., Friendswood EMS, and United Methodist Church personnel, while enjoying the Christmas lighted homes.

Special Friends commemorated its 30th anniversary of this wonderful event as shown in the smiles of members in the photos below.

Reminders of the devastation of Hurricane Harvey was evident in some vacant homes and debris piles; however, the spirit of Christmas was very evident in the lighted homes. Residents coming outside to greet the sleds was especially heart-warming!
