Audition notices have been posted for “Manhattan Melodies,” a Broadway Music Revue set for Spring at Home Grown Theatre. All performers ages 8 to adult are encouraged to audition.
The Pearland company will have their production at Alvin Community College.
The audition schedule is Saturday, Jan. 20 from 3 to 5 p.m. at South Main Baptist Church at 4300 Beltway 8 in Pasadena. Auditions will also take place Sunday, Jan. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bay Harbour UMC at 3459 FM 518 Rd. E. in League City.
Those auditioning should bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Each person will sing 32 bars of any Broadway song. A cappella is acceptable but not preferred.
Auditions will include choreography assessment.
Any calendar conflicts from Jan. 27 to March 24 should be brought at the time of the audition. Rehearsals begin Jan. 27.
Solos, duets and ensemble numbers will be cast based on auditions.
Rehearsal windows include Thursdays from 7 – 8:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sundays from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and include March 12-16 from 7 – 9 p.m.
The production date is March 23-24, 2018 at Alvin Community College. Derrick Bready is the HGT Artistic Director.
