Friendswood Police are asking residents to look for a man who allegedly robbed Texan Bank at 105 E. Parkwood Drive in Friendswood just before 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21. Not only could he be recognized by sight, he also could be identified by smell.

Police describe the man as 5 feet 8 inches between 40 and 60 years of age with a gray beard smelling of stale beer, body odor and cigarettes.

According to Police officials, he entered Texan Bank acting as if he was going to cash a check but handed the teller a letter demanding money. The teller told police that it was believed the man had a gun.

Witnesses reported the man wore faded red and white striped button-down shirt with khaki pants or jeans and a white cap. He walked with a limp and witnesses reported the odor he was emitting. They reported the suspect left in a blue “beat up” Toyota Camry.

Police and bank officials did not report the amount of money the suspect took with him.
