Louis “Buddy” Charles Cernosek, 83, former long-time resident of San Leon, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Buddy was born on October 6, 1934 in Houston, TX to parents Innocent E. and Helen Mae (Anthaume) Cernosek.

Buddy joined the Army in 1954 and proudly served his country. He enjoyed travelling and spent many years going to new places through his work. Belize was his favorite place to travel and he was often referred to by his family as the “unofficial” travel guide for Belize. Some of his hobbies included singing karaoke or cooking at BBQ cook-offs. Buddy’s most precious times were spent with his children and grandchildren. He created many memories that will be treasured by all that knew him.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Theresa Jean Cernosek.

He is survived by his children, Tammy Zientek, Theresa Varnado and husband Jean, and Robert Cernosek; wife, Priscilla Cernosek; sister, Madora Zenner and husband Jim; and grandchildren, Tiffany, Melanie, Andrea and Lily.

Friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation with the family from 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546, (281) 992-7200, with the Reading of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M., with Deacon Russell Carroll.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1612 E. Walker St., League City, TX 77573, with Father Howard Drabek officiating.

The family requests that anyone wanting to send flowers to please send potted plants or flower arrangements in consideration of the disposition or a contribution may be made in his name to the Prostate Cancer Foundation at www.pcf.org
