Legendary Country singer Ronnie Milsap is coming to Pearland and performing for the Lighthouse Charity Team annual gala set for Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Pearland KC Hall at 2320 Hatfield Road.
Milsap is an American country music singer and pianist. He was one of country music’s most popular and influential performers of the 1970s and 1980s and became one of the most successful and versatile country “crossover” singers of his time. He appeals to both country and pop music markets with hit songs that incorporate pop, R&B, and rock and roll elements.
His biggest crossover hits according to Wikipedia include “It Was Almost Like a Song,” “Smoky Mountain Rain,” “No Gettin’ Over Me,” “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for the World,” “Any Day Now,” and “Stranger in My House.”
He had six Grammy Awards and 40 No. 1 country hits, third to George Strait and Conway Twitty.
He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
“Ronnie Milsap has announced that this is part of his last tour, and he will retire in March when the tour is complete,” Lighthouse VP of Operations Scott Gordon said. “We are so fortunate to get him to join us for what we know will be the best gala we have ever had.”
The annual gala is known for its great performers and its amazing auction items. This year is no exception.
Gordon reported that items include a vacation at George Mitchell’s home in Mexico, a Las Vegas trip, signed Astros Jerseys by three top players, tickets to Garth Brooks’ performance at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, duck and hog hunts, Remington 200 Collection including a gun given by Chuck Norris for this event and more.
Table reservations are still being taken with tables for $5,000 on the dance floor and $2,800 for off the dance floor. No individual tickets are being sold. Each table seats eight people.
Dinner and beverage sponsors this year include Del Papa Distributors, Gordon Food Service, AC Cut Rate Wholesale Liquor, and Glazier Foods Company.

The Lighthouse Charity Team is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization. They provide equipment and volunteer labor to prepare meals to raise funds for charitable organizations and those in need. These groups incur only the costs of the food and products used for the event, allowing them to receive the benefit of 100% of profits.
The team, located on the Texas Gulf Coast, consists of dedicated volunteers. Utilizing 13 state-of-the-art, custom, portable trailers along with many other pieces of equipment that support the needs of a successful event, the team consistently delivers quality products and beneficial results.
Operating capital is received through the personal finances of team members, through individual donations and sponsors from the local area.
“Over the years, LCT has grown bigger and more rewarding than we could have ever imagined when we started in 1984. Without our dedicated volunteers and sponsors, none of this would be possible,” Gordon said.
The Lighthouse Charity Team is available to individuals, businesses, emergency responders, utility companies, refineries and others in time of need.
The gala fundraiser raises money to enable the Lighthouse Charity Team to be able to be there for others.
The organization is located at 604 W. Shadowbend in Friendswood and 6918 Broadway in Galveston.
