Parents and other members of the Pearland community joined Pearland ISD administrators and teachers recently to continue to address issues affecting students from personal/family crises to suicidal thoughts.
It was all part of the “Join In…Inspired, Informed, Involved” event held Jan. 8 from 6 – 7 p.m. at the Virgil Gant Education Support Center.
Pearland ISD encourages parents to join in campus and district efforts by attending meetings, trainings and events hosted by schools and district. The Join In event provided parents and volunteers an opportunity to learn more about topics and when trainings and events would be held this year.
By asking parents to Join In and hosting the event, PISD hopes to encourage their Pearland family to work together to support students’ mental health and overall well being.
This is a continued effort on PISD’s part to address mental health concerns and to be proactive in helping students.
A brief presentation was given to those attending Join In and tables were set up for attendees to visit and learn more about specific initiatives/programs and how they could JOIN IN.
Addressing student crises remains crucial to the well-being of students and to the educational mission of Pearland ISD, according to school officials.
