It’s time to Clean Up Pearland and Keep Pearland Beautiful (KPB) and its Adopt a Spot volunteers are willing and ready.
The official cleanup day is Feb. 3. Breakfast and supply pickup are scheduled from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Lone Star Pavilion of Centennial Park at 3219 McLean Rd. in Pearland.
KPB has been collecting registration forms online for Adopt a Spot volunteers for area locations.
This year’s theme is “Pitch in Pearland, Put Litter in its Place!”
KPB is supplying all the gloves and bags needed for the cleanup.
On Feb. 3, volunteers will clean designated areas and place the bags of trash next to the Adopt a Spot signs to show completion in the area. Volunteers are being asked to send photos of their work to #cleanpearland on Instagram, keeppearlandbeautiful Facebook page, kpbpearland Twitter account or to KPB member Fay Watson for posting.
All Adopt a Spot groups are required to clean their locations a minimum of four times a year, two of which are associated with the calendar’s semi-annual cleanups.
All volunteers complete Wrap-Up Reports to let KPB know how the cleanup was accomplished.
Anyone still wanting to volunteer for the cleanup event should go to www.kpb.org for an online application. Supplies can be picked up on a different date than the cleanup date at the breakfast. Groups can also report that they will take an alternative date for cleanup of their location.
For those who want to volunteer individually or as a group and do not have a spot already adopted, KPB members will assign them an area.
