Mary Frances Morehead Wissner, 81, of Alvin, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Mary Frances, or Pam to some, was born on August 18, 1936 in Houston, TX to parents William Howard and Dorothy Morehead.
Mary Frances was a nurse by trade and caretaker to many. Hospice and Home Health nursing was a true passion of hers until she was unable to continue working, though she did so well into her 70s. She was always very involved in church life wherever she resided over the years be it in Rockport, Kerrville, or Alvin. She was a lover of animals and could always be found with one by her side, be it her faithful companion pup, Sweetie, or sweet black cat, Twink.
She will be greatly missed.
Mary Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elton; her parents, William Howard and Dorothy Morehead; and her sister, Dottie.
She is survived by her children, Lou Wissner and wife Brenda, Howard Wissner and wife Michelle, and Elise White and husband Paul; grandchildren, Jennifer Wissner, Kevin Griffin, Christina Wissner, Misti Herrera, and Chelsea Wissner; great grandchildren, Mason, Joey, Kaden, Issac, Katerina, Sophia, Bryson, and Kaitlyn.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Grace Episcopal Church, 200 W. Lang St., Alvin, TX 77511, with The Rev. Nan Doerr officiating.
