County-wide, people are gearing up to participate in the 2018 BACH Roll ‘N Stroll! Individuals, companies, families, volunteers, and supporters will join in the festivities to celebrate the achievements of special needs kids on Feb. 17 in the ballroom of the Lake Jackson Civic Center. All proceeds will benefit BACH and their work to provide special services to children with special needs living in and around Brazoria County, from birth to 20 years of age.
No stranger to the BACH Roll ‘N Stroll is this year’s event chairman, Jeanna Stallman. “This will be my sixth year to help with the Roll ‘N Stroll and it’s an honor to Chair the 2018 committee. We are looking forward to a great event with a few changes including a new, convenient venue. This year we plan to increase the number of children who can participate and involve several high school groups from around the county to volunteer their time and service to make the experience even more special for the children.”
This is the first year that the event will take place at the Lake Jackson Civic Center. Another first is the inclusion of all special needs children in grades pre-k through 4th grade from both the Angleton and Brazosport Independent School Districts. “Traditionally this event has been held to celebrate the success and achievements of children who already receive support from BACH. Opening the event to all children with a special need in our county from 0–4th grade just seemed like the right thing to do.” said Patty Swords, Executive Director of BACH. “It is a special event celebrating children with special needs, it is all about them.”
BACH Roll ‘N Stroll has become a Brazoria County tradition. Generations of children with special needs have enjoyed a morning of fun, games and excitement all centered around their delight. This special event celebrates each child with friendly races, carnival-like games and prizes, music, photos, clowns and more, and is free for every child with a special need and their family.
