The Trial Connectivity project in Pearland is approaching completion of its Phase 2 items.

The aim of the project is to construct a trail segment that connects Centennial Park to Independence Park, providing a vital link in the system for pedestrian and bicycle use between the two regional parks.

The date for completion is March 2018.

The project establishes a trail from the southwest corner of the Veterans Drive Detention pond to Magnolia Road.

Concrete for the trail along Veterans Drive is ongoing. Shade structures and park furnishings and equipment are all underway and a crosswalk at Fite Road intersection will also be installed.

City officials report the city’s connectivity trail system is ever-expanding, and continues to present exciting opportunities to tie-in with, and become a part of, the greater Houston alternative transportation network. Themed areas of trails, exciting amenities and attractive trail heads continue to encourage and promote environmentally-friendly modes of transportation.

Phase 2 of the Trail Connectivity project was part of the 2013-2017 Capital Improvement Program for Pearland.
