The Big Scramble scavenger hunt and Easter Egg Hunt celebrated Easter in Manvel recently.

The two events highlighted the arrival of spring as well as showcased community pride in the businesses of the growing city.

Children searched for more than 3,000 eggs at Croix Park on March 24. It was the first annual Manvel Easter Egg Hunt in the area.

The scavenger hunt event was a Facebook game of clues that led readers to the businesses in town. The locations were not only sites for local prizes but also helped the hunters have chances to win the scavenger hunt awards.

Big Scramble winners were announced following the egg hunt at Croix Park. Susan Cisneros won first place. Janessa Dukes won second. The two won gift cards.

The following players won runner-up Big Scramble T-shirts: Susan Bowen, Christina Burdick, Susan Cisneros, Janessa Dukes, Jonathan Dukes, Dalia Fuentes, Cara Maxwell, Laurie Miller, Jennifer Rocha and Alarice Small.
