Concerts in the Park have begun in Pearland at Southdown Park located at 2150 Country Place Parkway.
A live band is performing every Friday night during May and June from 7 to 9 p.m.
Food vendors are at the park and the Splash Pad and playground will be available for children.
Those attending are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets to enjoy the evening of family entertainment.
There will be eight more concerts.
Band schedules include the following: May 11 Bourbon Street Band with R&B Motown; May 18 with Level One variety band; May 25 with Hamilton Loomis blues rock; June 1 with Adrian’s Fault and classic rock; June 8 it’s tropical sounds with Kelly McGuire; June 15 Phineus Reb with country; June 22 with salsa variety from Mango Punch; and June 29 a variety of music from Kaos.
Parking is located onsite in provided parking spaces, in the nearby fields north of the Splash Pad area and in the neighborhoods surrounding the park. Handicap spaces are available onsite, near the Westside Event Center.
In the event of inclement weather, Concerts in the Park will be canceled. Weather related updates will be posted on the website, the event hotline at 281-412-8989, and the Pearland Parks & Recreation Facebook.
Pets are allowed at these concerts but they must remain on a leash at all with owners prepared for any clean up needed.
Outside food and drinks as well as alcohol but glass is prohibited in the park so all items need to be in plastic containers.
Smoking is prohibited at all concerts.
