Elections results given for Alvin, Manvel

Elections were held May 5 for both Alvin ISD Board of Trustees as well as Alvin City Council. Manvel Council members were elected earlier by acclamation.

Alvin ISD had three positions up for election May 5.

In election results, incumbent Julie Pickren won over Bruce McClary-Davis with 1,929 votes over his 1,184 votes for Position 1.

In Position 2, Regan Metoyer Peterson won Position 2 with 2,169 over Binu John with 913 votes.

Cheryl B. Harris won for Position 3 with 2,091 votes over Eugene Howard with 1,016 votes.

In the City of Alvin General election, Brad Richards won with 399 votes for At Large Position 1 over Bunky Jordan with 275 votes.

Adam Arendell ran unopposed for District B Council position and received 77 votes.

Keith Thompson ran unopposed for District C Council position and received 100 votes.

All Council position are three year terms.

The City of Manvel had two Council positions up for reelection and current Council approved accepting the winners by acclamation since both were running unopposed. Larry Akery will serve as Councilman in Position 1. Incumbent in Position 2, Lorraine Hehn, was also declared elected by acclamation.
