James Walden Williams, 88, of Friendswood, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 in Webster. James was born in 1930 in Taft, TX to parents Joe and Grace Williams. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years as a Staff Sergeant and was an aviation mechanic (crew chief) on B-26’s and P-51’s in Guam, Japan, and Korea. James married Pauline Llaneza of Clarksburg, WVa, and the two remained happily married for 63 years.

James worked for North American Aviation/Rockwell International as a Project Engineer for 41 years that took him to various locations in Columbus, OH, White Sands, NM, Downey, CA, and Houston, TX. He had numerous work projects, such as Vigilante, Little Joe, SC-008/2TV-1, Acoustic Fatigue, Crew Equipment, Apollo, Apollo/Soyuz, Skylab, and Space Shuttle. He was a member of Commemorative Air Force (CAF) organization since 1974 and Lone Star Flight Museum since 2000. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring vintage aircrafts.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Velma Jo Cavallaro and her husband Lou Cavallaro.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Williams of Friendswood, TX; son, Keith Williams and wife Barbara of League City, TX; daughter, Lisa Cumming and husband Bob of Williamsburg, VA; and son, David Williams and wife Dene’ of Seabrook, TX; six grandchildren, Allison and Daniel Williams, Trey and Kristen Cumming, and Bradley and Casey Williams; and two great grandchildren.

Friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation with the family at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1612 E. Walker St., League City, TX 77573. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M., with Deacon Sam Dell’Olio officiating.
