The 10th Annual Pocket Pear Speakeasy Party will be June 16 at the Pearland Lions Club. Hosted by Keep Pearland Beautiful, this year’s goal is to raise $15,000 for the Joe Miller Environmental Scholarship Fund and KPB programs.
KPB hosts the Pocket Pear each year in honor of the late Joe Miller, an avid environmentalist who volunteered his time to KPB as well as several other community organizations. Scholarships are awarded each year to high school seniors in Pearland who demonstrate good stewardship of the environment and are pursuing higher education.
In 10 years, a total of $72,000 in scholarships has been awarded. In 2017, a total of $13,000 was awarded to six high school graduates from Pearland.
The evening will start with dinner, desserts, a raffle and 1920-era music. After dinner casino games and a Texas Hold’em Tournament begin. Tickets are $75 per person.
Sponsorships are available now.
For the $2,500 Royal Flush level, sponsors receive two VIP tables which would be 16 tickets and one bottle of wine per table.
