Beloved husband, father, and paw-paw, Charles W. (Bill) Armstrong, 84, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on June 30, 1933, to Baxter and Crecia Cooper Armstrong. A proud military veteran, Bill served his country in the US Army as an intelligence officer, stationed in Germany from 1953 – 1956.
On June 8, 1974 Bill married his devoted wife, Eileen, in Decatur, Indiana. They shared 43 wonderful years together. Bill was also a long-time member of Clear Lake United Methodist Church.
Surviving family left to cherish his memory are sons: David and wife Sheri, Jeff and partner Melanie, Phil and wife Susan, Shane and wife Stacey, Kaden Armstrong and Blayze Armstrong. Six grandchildren survive: Bryan, Jennifer, Ian, Mara, Kyler and Kason, as well as two great-grandchildren: Cole and Abigail. Sisters, Ruth Perkins, Penny Lewis and brother, Pat Armstrong and Ellen also survive. Bill is predeceased by parents, Baxter and Crecia Armstrong; son, Gregg Ryan Armstrong; sisters, Mary Jo Lyon and Shelby Springer; brothers, Michael Armstrong and Bob Armstrong.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200.
The Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mike Deaton officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, TX.
Memorials may be directed to Camp Hope (an organization benefiting veterans suffering from PTSD) at, or to Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 16335 El Camino Real, Houston, Texas 77062-5208 or a charity of choice.
