Council approves agreement for adoption center

An interlocal cooperation agreement was approved 5-0 between the City of Manvel and the City of Alvin for the use of the Alvin Animal Adoption Center at the regular meeting of Manvel City Council Monday night, June 4.

Also at the meeting, 10 year old Anthony Plunkett was recognized for courageous actions during a situation involving a medical emergency in his home.

In other Council action, a replat for Sedona Lakes Section 8 was approved. A final plat of Sedona Lakes Section 9 was also on the agenda. A final plat of Pomona Section 8, 9 and 10 were approved.

Discussion to approve was given to Emily Foreman of Coastal Swim Academy to plat out lot 83 in the 7000 block of Rodgers Road without requiring construction of one-half of the perimeter streets.

Freese and Nichols Inc. were approved to provide the professional engineering services for the implementation of the city’s master wastewater plan.

A public hearing was held regarding a request for a replat of Lot 2, 3 and 4 block of Sedona Lakes Section 9 being a subdivision.

The next council meeting for Manvel will be June 18 at City Hall at 20025 Hwy. 6 at 6 p.m.
