Charlotte Elaine Schuchart Kewish, 78, of Friendswood, TX passed away on Thursday, June 7. 2018. She was born April 13, 1940 to Louis Schuchart and Wilma E. Solesbee Schuchart in Culver City, CA.
Charlotte grew up and lived for many years in Placentia, California, with a loving circle of family and friends. She also lived in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, Mission Viejo, California, Cheswick, Pennsylvania, Gibsonia, Pennsylvania and finally, Friendswood, Texas. She moved to Pennsylvania, enduring snow and ice, and Texas, happy to be in the sun, to be near her daughter and son-in-law and her two beloved grandchildren.
Charlotte was known to all as being tough and determined. Having Lynch Syndrome, she endured many cancers and treatments and always remained as independent as possible. Charlotte was also a devoted wife and loving mother, always loyal and caring for her family, passing on her faith in Jesus Christ.
She worked hard at her successful career as an insurance account executive, furthering her education and belonging to Toastmistress. She was also artistic and talented as a seamstress and quilter, belonging to and volunteering for several quilt guilds. Upon retirement, she volunteered at St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and also worked at Target to be out among people.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her father, Louis Schuchart, her mother, Wilma E. Solesbee Schuchart, her baby sister Patricia Schuchart, her grandmother, Bertha East Solesbee, who raised her and her brother upon her parents’ untimely deaths, and her grandfather Louis Solesbee, and by her ex-husband and friend George Hadley Kewish.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Wilson, son-in-law Richard Wilson, granddaughter Hannah Wilson Cale and her husband Seth Cale, grandson Sean Wilson, brother Louis Schuchart and sister-in-law Mary, nieces Diana Schuchart, Julia Skates (Tom), Sara Bauerly (Lance), Janet A. Schuchart, Mary Rios (Jason) and her great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200 with Rev. Jerry Stark officiating.
