New Heritage Complex to have ribbon cutting

The new Alvin ISD Heritage Complex will have an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony June 21 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The 94 acre complex is an extracurricular and event complex featuring the Liberty Alumni Hall, Freedom Field, and Legacy House. It is located at 10855 Iowa Colony Blvd in Rosharon.

Freedom Field is an artificial turf stadium that will hold 10,250 in seating capacity with the ability to expand to 12,000 in the future. A parking space for every four seats in the stadium will also be available.

The athletic complex includes Legacy House which is the field house with athletic offices and locker rooms.

A 500-seat alumni center, Liberty Alumni Hall is also part of the complex.

Alvin Memorial Stadium located at 1125 Stadium Drive in Alvin will still be used and the site has a newly built press box and upgrades in lighting.
