The Pearland Lions Club is hosting its 11th annual 51 Gun Raffle Saturday, June 23 at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 2320 Hatfield Road in Pearland. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The popular event is offering over $50,000 in guns to be raffled and winners need not be present to win.
Items in the raffle are by a variety of brands such as Remington, Bushmaster, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Benelli, Glock, Marlin, Stoeger, Savage, Taurus, Weatherby, and Browning. The 51st gun to be raffled is usually the best one offered. This year the item is an engraved Benelli overunder shotgun.
Silent and live auctions will also be held that evening. Items in both auctions include hunting trips, fishing excursions, vacation rentals and getaways and sports tickets.
Tickets are $25 each or five for $100. Ticket prices include a baked potato dinner catered by Bottomless Pit Cooking Crew.
Last year the Lions Club gave away more than $200,000 last year to local charities, Lions Club charities, and the three local high schools in scholarships.
“The 51 Gun Raffle is the club’s largest fundraiser of the year,” member Lee Smith said. “Last year it helped us in providing for our scholarships for high schools here as well as for our charitable donations.”
The guns are from Bailey’s House of Guns in Houston.
