Request for Proposals (RFP’s) shall be submitted in triplicate and in sealed envelopes clearly marked with RFP No. 2018-16, and addressed to the City of Friendswood, Attn: Melinda Welsh,City Secretary, and will be received at Friendswood City Hall, 910 S. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX, 77546 before 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 10, 2018.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Pearland, Texas (the “City”) will meet at its regular meeting place at City Hall, Pearland, Texas at 6:30 p.m. on the 13th day of August, 2018, which is the time and place tentatively set for the passage of an ordinance and such other action as may be deemed necessary to authorize the issuance of the City’s certificates of obligation, payable from ad valorem taxation and a limited (in an amount not to exceed $10,000) subordinate pledge of certain revenues of the water and sewer system of the City, in the maximum aggregate principal amount of $7,535,000 bearing interest at any rate or rates, not to exceed the maximum interest rate now or hereafter authorized by law, as shall be determined within the discretion of the City Council at the time of issuance and maturing over a period of years not to exceed forty (40) years from the date thereof, for the purpose of evidencing the indebtedness of the City to pay all or any part of the contractual obligations to be incurred for the construction of public works and the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, machinery, buildings, land and rights-of-way for authorized needs and purposes and for the payment of contractual obligations for professional services, to wit: (i) construction and improvements to certain streets, roads and intersections within the City; (ii) certain improvements to parks and trails within the City including extensions of Shadow Creek Ranch Trail and Green Tee Terrace Trail; (iii) construction of and improvements to Fire Station #1 located at McHard Road near Pearland Parkway, (iv) construction of Fire Station #7 near SH35 and Bailey and Fire Station #8 on Shadow Creek Parkway by Reflection Bay (v) construction of an Animal Services Shelter located at or near the 2500 block of Hillhouse Road and the Shadow Creek Library located at Shadow Creek Parkway west of Kirby Drive, (vi) improvements to drainage facilities at various locations within the City and (vii) professional services rendered in connection with the above listed projects.

NOTICE OF HEARING

This serves as formal notice of a hearing that was held in the Pearland Municipal Court on June 19, 2018, to address in an open court the code violations located at 3404 Dixie Farm Road, Pearland, Texas 77581, Brazoria CAD Property ID: 218956 and formally recognized as Jenkins (A0070 W D C Hall) (Pearland), Lot 15A1. [Please note: this property has been referenced in some documents as 3406 Dixie Farm Road.]

At the hearing the City of Pearland presented evidence of the nuisance conditions existing at the above described property. The Court then ordered abatement of the nuisance conditions to be achieved through specific listed actions including demolition of all structures located on the property. This abatement is to be completed on or before July 19, 2018, and proven by submission of a certificate of completion to the Pearland Municipal Court by 5:00 p.m. on July 20, 2018. ORDINANCE NO. 1494-2

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Pearland, Texas, amending Ordinance No. 1494, establishing prima facie speed limits established for vehicles under the provisions of Section 545.356, Texas Transportation Code, upon certain streets and highways, of parts thereof, within the corporate limits of the City of Pearland, as set out in this ordinance and providing a penalty.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS:

Section 2. Penalty. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200).
