Three new trucks have been spotted at various sites in Friendswood and all three, a red, a blue and a silver one, advertise the 27th annual Win A Truck Raffle that is synonymous with Fourth of July in Friendswood. Hosted by the Friendswood Chamber of Commerce, the raffle will draw its winner in Centennial Park around 9 p.m. July 4.
Tickets are still available at the Chamber office. The trucks belong to McRee Ford in Dickinson but soon one will belong to a lucky winner who hears the news just before the fireworks program begins.
The raffle is one event of many on Wednesday, July 4.
The daylong celebration will begin at 10 a.m. with the 123rd Grand Parade. With first responders as Grand Marshals, the theme this year is Friendswood Strong. The route begins at Heritage Drive and travels down FM 518 to Stevenson Park.
Park festivities will run through 3:30 p.m. and include rides, games, food and live entertainment.
An All-Day Wristband Ride Pass may be purchased for $15 in the Parks and Recreation office at City Hall, 910 S. Friendswood Dr. through July 3. This wristband will be for both the day program in Stevenson Park and evening program at Centennial Park to ride the amusement rides.
The events are free to attend, however, the wristbands will allow participants unlimited access to all rides at both locations.
The evening events will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Centennial Park and feature live entertainment by Chinatown who performs a variety of music from the 1980’s to 2018. Fireworks will end the night starting at around 9:20 p.m.
