Michael Alfred Cailleteau, 60, departed this mortal life on July 18, 2018 in Baytown Texas due to cardiac arrest after struggling to recover from brain injury.

Michael was born on May 21, 1958 near Los Angeles, California to his parents Leonore Meline Nelems Cailleteau and Robert Alfred Cailleteau Junior. In 1965, Michael and his family moved from California to Friendswood, Texas where he graduated from Friendswood High School. He worked many years in the paint department at Builders Square in Webster, Texas and Home Depot in Clear Lake Shores, Texas. Michael was admired by many for his kindness, knowledge, and helpful nature.

Some people from Friendswood said about him: “Mike was nice to everybody – always. Such a loss!” and “I worked with him when he volunteered at EMS (Friendswood Emergency Medical Services) he was a gentle soul with everyone he met and could make us all laugh.”

Michael is survived by his wife of 32 years, Margaret Anne Cailleteau; his sons, Wills Jameson, Shane Allen, and Michael Lee; his grandchildren, Avery Rose, Evelyn Lee, and Texas Marshall; his sisters, Caryn and Nancy; his brothers, Stephen and Walter; and 10 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and all of his grandparents.

A private family service will be held on July 28, 2018. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Michael’s name to TIRR Memorial Hermann.

A fan of author Leo Buscaglia, Michael lived by this quote: “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
