The City of Pearland will have a Community Development Forum Aug. 14 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Westside Event Center. The forum will give the community a chance to meet the city development team.

Westside Event Center is located at 2150 Country Place Parkway in Pearland.

Presentations include Updates on the Development Process, Updates to City Codes and Ordinances, Introduction of new staff members, frequently asked questions and information on 2018 fee changes.

Departments and divisions making presentations include the Fire Marshal, Planning, Code Enforcement, Community Development, and Engineering Department.

In an update on construction in the city, Section 1 of the asphalt pavement repairs on Fite Road between Cullen Parkway and Manvel Road have been completed. Section 2 of this repair will continue on Fite Road from Keithwood Drive to Harkey Road.

In other construction news, as a part of regular sidewalk maintenance program in Pearland, crews repaired several trip hazards in the Southdown subdivision.

The repairs were handled by the construction method of removal and replacement.

Any residents who notice any sidewalk hazards in their neighborhood can report them via the city’s Connect2Pearland app.
