Improvements, future plans to park continue

In Manvel news, the Croix Park vision continues to grow.

Recently, the Parks and Recreation Board met to discuss the schematics for the proposed improvements at Croix Park. The Events Task Force members attended the meeting The board has been actively considering a set of recommendations to send to city council.

At Croix Park, improvements continue. The city crews are working on the roof of the restrooms while contractors will begin the remodeling work inside the building soon.

The restrooms are closed during these renovations. As soon as the work is finished, the city will reopen the improved bathrooms for use at the park.

Other planned improvements include security improvements, lighting, a new entrance gate, signage, additional parking and playground improvements.

New hours have been announced for the Justice of Peace office.

Effective Sept. 1, the office hours for the Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Place 1 office in Manvel will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. The office will also be closed for all county approved holidays.

Manvel residents are reminded that the School Sales Tax Holiday will be Aug. 10-12. Only the school supplies on this list priced under $100 qualify for exemption from tax during the sales tax holiday.
