Thomas Allen Fowler, 78, of League City, TX passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. He was born December 12, 1939 to Major Knight Fowler and Lloyd Partain Fowler in Newark, NJ.
Thomas attended Auburn University, graduating in 1962 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering; he also obtained his M.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University in 1974; he proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Henry W. Tucker (DD 875) and USS James E. Kyes (DD 787) and retired as Commander USNR.
Some of Thomas’s other accomplishments include, Human Resources Executive for General Electric Co., Trane Co., and American Standard, Inc.; Founder and President, Fowler and Associates; Southern Methodist University, taught in the Executive MBA program and Mentor for the Executive MBA Program; Founder, Tyler Catholic School Foundation; President, United Way of Tyler; Texas Association of Business, Board of Directors; Appointed by Governor Mark White to the Governor’s Task Force on the Advancement of Labor – Management Relations. His hobbies include: An avid average golfer and member of the USGA. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys and Auburn University football fan!
He is survived by his loving wife Mary P. Sanchez-Fowler whom he married on May 6, 1964; children Gregory A. Fowler and spouse Debbie, Laura Sanchez Fowler and spouse Susan Schoon and Lisa Fowler Pomes and spouse Michael; sister, Susan Fowler Seale and spouse Bill; grandchildren, John Thomas Molnar, Matthew Molnar, Jeffery Fowler, Samantha Fowler, Joseph Fowler, Nicholas Pomes, Madeleine Pomes and Daniel Pomes; and many other relatives and cherished friends.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1612 E. Walker St., League City, TX 77573 with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Howard Drabek officiating. Please join the family for a reception following the mass. A private burial will follow at a later date.
