Thyme Luncheon tickets on sale soon

Tickets go on sale Monday, Sept. 17 for the 15th Plant Thyme Fall Luncheon hosted by Keep Pearland Beautiful. The annual fundraiser will be held Oct. 19 at First United Methodist Church in Pearland at 2314 N. Grand Blvd.

Popular Garden Line radio host Randy Lemmon will be the guest speaker. Lemmon is considered Houston’s expert on lawns and gardens.

Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. for the KPB plant sale and silent auction.

Sponsorships are also available now for the event.

In other KPB news, the next workshop hosted by the group will be “Tropicals” presented by Brazoria County Master Gardener Ed Barrios on Thursday, Sept. 13 from 7 to 8 p.m.

The workshop is sponsored by KPB, City of Pearland, and BCMG.

Drug Take Back Day sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration is Saturday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pearland residents can properly dispose of all unwanted, unused and expired medications but they are limited to pills and patches only. No liquids or needles will be accepted.

Disposal sites will be Stella Roberts Recycling Center at 5800 Magnolia and Reflection Bay Park at Shadow Creek at 12115 S. Clear Lake Loop.

KPB recently held their annual Community Wide Clean Up Day Sept. 8. KPB is working to make Pearland clean, green and beautiful. At the event, volunteers completed six projects along with litter clean up.
