The First Annual Rotary Regatta will be Sunday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon in Clear Creek beginning at 1776 Park in Friendswood.

The First Annual Rotary Regatta will be Sunday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. The inaugural race will begin at 1776 Park in Friendswood and end at Countryside Park in League City.

The event is a joint effort of the Friendswood Rotary Club and League City Rotary Club.

Racers can use canoes, kayaks and stand up paddle boards (SUPs). The event is open to everyone from the novice enthusiast to the competitive paddler, according to Rotary officials.

The race is seven miles.

Entry free is $35 per paddler and includes food, adult beverages, music and a tee shirt.

Pre-register for the event at www.RotaryRegatta.org.

The event will showcase Clear Creek as an important watershed and recreational paddle trail.

1776 Park is located at 450 FM 2351 N. in Friendswood. Countryside Park is located at 300 Countryside Drive in League City.
