The first Manvel “Coffee with Cops” community event was held recently at Honore’s Cajun Restaurant. Attendance was great according to Manvel PD, and Honore’s provided breakfast which included beignets.
More Manvel “Coffee with Cops” events are planned in the months ahead, according to Chief Keith Traylor.
This Thursday is Produce Thursday at The Well Food Pantry on Masters Road. Free groceries and produce are available from 2 – 3 p.m. for seniors and 3 – 6 p.m. for everyone.
Located at 6911 Masters Road inside The Church on Masters Road, the food pantry is feeding currently 315 families.

“Thank you to the many volunteers that work tirelessly to make this day run smooth. Week after week they serve the community with a giving heart, a smile and a kind word. This work could only be done by a team that works together,” Dietz said.
In county news, Brazoria County has been determined to be on the best places to live list.
SmartAsset, a New York financial technology company, has placed Brazoria County in the top 10 of the best places to live to save money. They considered metrics to determine best places to save money.
Brazoria County placed 10th on the list. Others from 1 to 9 include Fort Bend, Rockwall, Collin, Borden, Roberts, Denton, Kendall, Hemphill, and Williamson Counties in Texas.
Brazoria County has $72,006 as median household income and $34,182 in cost of living.
