The Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Gridiron Skills Challenge is coming to Pearland’s Veterans Sports Complex Saturday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m.
Competitors will punt, pass, kick and sprint to advance to the championship games at the TAAF Winter Games of Texas in January.
The four events on Saturday are divided by ages. Ages 6-7 will punt. Ages 8-9 will pass. Those 10-11 will kick and athletes ages 12-13 will sprint a 40 yard dash. The top three finishers in each age group will advance to the 2019 TAAF Winter Games of Texas held in Pearland for the second consecutive year.
The Gridiron Skills cost to participate is $15 but the event is free to attend.

Veterans Sports Complex is located at 3901 Veterans Dr. in Pearland.
The first TAAF Winter Games in Pearland was held in January 2018 and offered competition in archery, basketball, football 8 on 8 and 7 on 7, gymnastics, golf, kickball, lacrosse, martial arts, pickleball, powerlifting, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis and wheelchair rugby.
