Three public hearings were held Dec. 3, at the meeting of the Manvel City Council at City Hall.
The three hearings were to hear input from the public regarding an ordinance of the city finding and determining that public convenience and necessity no longer require the continued existence of a portion of a 40 ft. city unimproved right-of-way being .0596 of one acre (2.595 sq. ft) tract of land, a second being 1.237 acre (3.866 sq. ft) tract of land, and a third being 0.9427 acre (41.062 sq. ft) tract of land all situated in the HT & BRR co. survey, section 71, abstract No. 291 of Brazoria County and being a portion of a 40 ft unimproved road as described in Emigration Land Company subdivisions section 71, a subdivision per plat recorded under vol. 2, pg. 81-82 of the Brazoria County Plat Records; abandoning, and closing said public unimproved right-of-way.
The three ordinances sited above were then considered for approval at their first of two readings during the meeting.
Also considered by council at the first of two readings was an ordinance to no longer require the continued existence of the northern one half of a 60 ft. unimproved right-of-way between Cemetery Road and the Mississippi Street.
A subdivision variance request for property located at 8058 Jordan Road for relief from Chapter 62 was considered as well as a subdivision variance request for property located at 7635 Scott Avenue for relief from Chapter 62.
In consent agenda, a final plat for Pomona Section 11 and minor plats for Garlinge Estates on Scott Street, The Hermanson Estate, and Little Rascals Daycare were considered for approval.
Prior to the meeting, the council held a workshop to discuss the Subdivision Ordinance and a Food Truck Ordinance.
