Pearland City Council approved a resolution recently adopting a State Legislative Agenda packet that will go to the Texas Legislature for their 86th Session.

It included a presentation, “Our Home Our Decisions” presented by council member Trent Epperson at the December meeting of city council. The program is a call to State Legislators to keep decisions at the most local level.

The ideas are based on Pearland’s Strategic Priorities and the format and issues are modeled upon the city legislative priorities as adopted for the 2017 session.

The agenda will be provided to the city’s representatives in the state legislature and will be used to communicate the legislative issues to Pearland citizens.

During Pearland Day and Brazoria County Day in Austin, the packet will be used to speak to Pearland’s topics for consideration in partnership with State legislators.

Position statements are organized by the categories of Local Control, Keeping Families Safe and Healthy, Expanding Business Growth, and Increase Efficiency and Reduce Waste.
