The Friendswood ISD School Board members along with Superintendent Thad Roher will have a Team of Eight meeting Monday, Jan. 7 at 6 p.m. on in the FISD Boardroom at 402 Laurel.

Dr. Steve Waddell from Engage to Learn will facilitate the meeting.

Engage to Learn worked with FISD on a strategic design process in order to create a five-year strategic plan for the district.

The company had the district conduct a community survey, create focus groups, and put together a strategic design team. Together these assignments gathered input to help put together a plan draft for the district for the next five years.

The design team composed of 43 members met five times to put together the document.

The team was made up of a variety of individuals including students and parents, both elementary and secondary teachers, community members, administrators and staff from the Administration building.

The document’s call to action states the following: Through authentic experiences and relationships, FISD will graduate confident learners equipped with the knowledge, skills and character to thrive in and contribute to a global society.

The draft document includes the district’s beliefs, their expected learner outcomes, learner profile, FISD goals, and year one specific results.
