Two new trail systems are coming to Pearland for the new year. One new trail system will be in Green Tee Terrace and the other in Shadow Creek Ranch.

Green Tee Terrace Bike and Pedestrian Trail Project had its construction services contract approved at the December meeting of the Pearland City Council.

The trail project services were approved to Tandem Services in the amount of $2,403,637.90.

The project is a 10-ft. wide concrete bike and pedestrian trail. The project includes benches, shade structures. signage, and trash receptacles.

The second new trail system will be the Shadow Creek Ranch Bike/Pedestrian Trail Project.

The trail services for it was contracted to Texas Wall and Landscape, LLC in the amount of $1,636,959.60.

Both new trail projects are part of the City’s Trail Master Plan.

The two projects were submitted to the Houston Galveston Area Council (HGAC) during its call for projects. As a result, the two projects will each have 80 percent of the costs funded through federal dollars. The City of Pearland will only pay 20 percent of the cost of the projects.

In Shadow Creek Ranch, their trail project cost of 20 percent to the city will be paid by TIRZ, Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone. As a result, the project completion will have zero cost to the city.
