Inez Phillips Dallas, loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and friend of Friendswood, Texas passed away in her home in Friendswood from cancer on January 22, 2019 at
the age of 86.
Inez is survived by her husband of 68 years, David Dallas, Jr. and her daughters, Carolyn Ann Dallas and Debra Lynn Dallas, Carolyn’s children Jess Bryan Monroe and Amanda Jo Kolb, and Debra’s children Trey Palmer and Caitlyn Drew Palmer. She was preceded in death by her son, Pastor Fred Wayne Dallas, and survived by his wife, Laura Dallas and their children Marshall Dallas and Katherine Alldredge. Inez has seven great-grandchildren, Chad, Brianne, Serenity, Olivia, Alexander, Noelle, and Levi. Her sisters are Yvonne, Mabel, Nadine, Connie, Joan and Jane, and brothers Joe, Paul, Walter, and Charles, and many other relatives and cherished friends.
Inez was born in Whiteville, North Carolina on April 27, 1932. She married David in 1950 and lived in Tennessee and Japan while being his military bride during the Korean War. Together, they retired from their military life in El Paso, and relocated to Friendswood in 1967, to participate in the space exploration boom at NASA. Inez was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and was a self-taught lab technician and nursing aid in the Bay Area for many years. After her working career ended, Inez enjoyed painting at the Friendswood Senior Center, and was a member of the Knotty Ladies of Hope Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with her family and gardening.
She will be interred in a private ceremony held at Hope Lutheran Church by Pastors Ralph Hobratschk and her grandson, Marshall Dallas.
