To assist government employees and public servants during the government shutdown, Clear Creek ISD hosted a food drive at every CCISD campus during Jan. 28-Feb. 1.
CCISD Cares Food Drive is a part of CCISD Cares, a 501(c)(3) support organization formed to assist Clear Creek ISD families with basic needs during times of crisis.
Supporters of the food drive have been dropping off donations at every campus or district support facility during office hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The district is collecting canned goods, rice, pasta, peanut butter, jelly, and toiletries such as toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo as well as baby diapers.
All donations are being given to Interfaith Caring Ministries (ICM), a non-profit agency assisting those in need who live in CCISD and Friendswood ISD.
Some community members have chosen to make monetary donations to CCISD Cares at www.ccisd.net/donate.
Families who live within the Clear Creek ISD or Friendswood ISD boundaries who seek support for food needs can contact Interfaith Caring Ministries. The non profit group provides non-perishable and perishable food as well as toiletries and cleaning products. ICM contact number is 281-332-3881.
Additional food distribution sites include the Galveston County Food Bank, Houston Food Bank and local area faith-based food pantries.
Several mobile food distribution sites within Clear Creek boundaries are also available.
