A joint public hearing and joint special meeting were both held during the regular meeting of the Pearland City Council Jan. 28 at City Hall.
The purpose of the public hearing was to gather community input on approval of amendments to the regulations of the Midtown at Magnolia Planned development, the townhome development tract south of 7110 Magnolia Road in Pearland. The tract is approximately 7.443 acres of land.
A public hearing was held also for a Zone Change Application.
A request was made by Spencer Marston, applicant, on behalf of Norman W. Hicks, Sr. and Shelia Hicks, owner, for approval of a zone change from the interim zoning classification of Suburban Development (SD) District to Neighborhood Service (NS) District on approximately 3.1988 acres of land proposed for annexation.
The Joint Special Meeting concerned a conditional use permit application.
A request was made by Todd Huntington, GDP Group, applicant, on behalf of CCAC Reserve Holdings, LLC, owner; for approval of a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to allow a mini-warehouse/self-storage within the Shadow Creek Ranch Planned Unit Development (PUD), on a 2.35-acre tract located within the 2000 Block of Kingsley Drive.
During the regular meeting, the Second and Final Reading of Ordinance No. T-29 was discussed.
The Ordinance concerned amendments to the Unified Development Code (UDC), a request for a proposed amendment to permit massage establishment only by a Conditional Use Permit (CUP), provide regulations for massage establishments, and to allow additional tree credits to provide developers relief from tree mitigation requirements.
A first reading was given on an ordinance concerning the renaming of portions of Max Road between Broadway and Hughes Ranch Road to Reid Boulevard; renaming a disconnected section of Max Road to Old Max Court; and naming a currently unnamed road north of Zychlinski Park to Zychlinski Drive.
