Brazoria County Day in Austin is March 5.

Manvel citizens, as well as all county residents, can visit their state legislators to let them know what issues are important to their city and Brazoria County.

Events take place over two days: Monday and Tuesday, March 4-5. All events are underwritten so attendees only have to provide their own transportation to Austin and any overnight accommodations. There is no need to register with Brazoria County Day in advance.

“Brazoria County Day is an opportunity for the people of Brazoria County to strengthen relationships with business leaders, lawmakers, as well as with other elected officials. And, of course, it’s an opportunity for you to bring a piece of the Gulf Coast right here to Austin,” Governor Greg Abbott said.

Event registration takes place at the host hotel, Hyatt Regency Austin, 208 Barton Springs Road in Austin. The first 300 to register will receive goody bags and Brazoria County Day tee shirts will be available at that time.

Anyone who would like to help distribute invitations, tickets, legislative issues and gifts to legislators and agencies in Austin, should plan to attend the continental breakfast on Monday, March 4, 8 a.m. at the host hotel. Assignments will be made at that time.

To meet with a specific agency while in Austin, request the visit through Brazoria County Day and it will be scheduled. To request an agency visit, please email [email protected], call 979-848-0560, or make contact through the website www.brazoriacounty.org.

The event is still open for sponsors. The sponsorships make it possible to offer all events to be free of charge to attendees. To donate to the cause, visit the Brazoria County Day website at www.brazoriacountyday.org. Sponsors are acknowledged on the webpage and on sponsor boards at the event.

Another great way to promote a business is to provide promotional items for the goody bags that will be distributed at registration. Drop off 300 promotional items to the Economic Development Alliance for Brazoria County, your local chamber of commerce, or BayStar Printing.

Brazoria County Day in Austin is not only an opportunity to meet our state elected officials, but also network with others from Brazoria County.
