BrazCon Teen Comic Convention & Geek-Fest is coming to Manvel Saturday, Feb. 23.
The all day event is a celebration of graphic novels, comics, manga, and pop culture. It will be held at Manvel High School at 19601 Hwy. 6 and will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Doors will open at 8:45 a.m. for registration.
All are welcome but the day is planned especially for kids ages 10 to 18.
Attendees will need to pick up and wear a BrazCon wristband while at the event. Anyone without a wristband will be redirected to a check-in point to pick up their wristband.
BrazCon offers a full day of sessions, workshops, gaming, crafting, cosplay, and anime. Activities are based on Marvel, DC, “Harry Potter,” “Star Wars,” “Doctor Who,” “Percy Jackson,” “Star Trek” and more.
Five comic drawing presentations will be given and 20 authors will be at the event presenting. Four voice actors will also be at BrazCon.
Space City Sabers will offer Saber Training 101 and board and card gaming will be offered. The featured game will be “Magic: The Gathering” along with 22 other games.
Those attending can also participate in Live Action Role Playing Group events.
Costumes are encouraged but not required and prop weapons will not be allowed at BrazCon.
Food trucks and vendors will be present and most accept cash only. An ATM machine will not be present at the site.
For shopping, 37 vendors will be set up.

The event is hosted each year by the Brazoria County Library System. Each person attending BrazCon will receive an event t-shirt if they get new or renew their Brazoria County Library card.
