An upcoming Pancake Day at a popular new eatery will benefit a garden in Friendswood.

Snooze, a new Webster/Clear Lake breakfast/brunch restaurant, is sponsoring Pancake Day March 5 and they are partnering with Friendswood’s Heritage Gardeners.

The restaurant hosts the annual event as a environmentally conscious franchise with 100 percent of their pancake sales going to an area garden of their choice. Following the day, 15 staff members from the restaurant will volunteer in April at the garden.

The restaurant chose Heritage Gardeners and will work in the club’s Briscoe Gardens at 112 W. Spreading Oaks.

At that time, the restaurant group will present a check to the garden club.

“We hope everyone will bring their family and friends and have pancakes March 5,” Heritage Gardener President Michelle Thompson said. “We are excited to partner with Snooze. We are working on incorporating pollinator and native plant components in our clubhouse garden and this will benefit that project.”

Thompson is working with members Becky Stroup and Mary Horn on the project.

Snooze, an AM eatery, is located at 820 Bay Area Blvd. Pancake Day will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Think globally, eat locally is the motto of our restaurant,” Community Manager Rajane White said. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy pancakes while helping Heritage Gardeners with their community garden.”
