Council calls special meeting

The Manvel City Council held a Special Meeting March 11 at 6 p.m. at City Hall at 20025 Hwy. 6 in Manvel.

The regular agenda had the council considering approval of the first of two readings of Ordinance 2019-O-02. This ordinance extends the corporate limits of the city to annex territory of approximately .9009 acres of land in te HT and BRR Co. survey.

Ordinance 2019-O-14 was also considered to amend an earlier ordinance to amend the city’s Fiscal Year 2019 budget ending Sept. 30. The amendment would be the General Fund and Capital Projects fund budgets to account for the increase in revenues and expenditures as a result of the sale and purchase of land.

Third on the agenda was to consider approving a resolution consenting to the addition of land into Brazoria County Municipal Utility District No. 61.

City Manager Kyle Jung also provided an update on the Sowell Tract MUD 75.

Council will have its next regular workshop and meeting March 18 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
