Council proclaims April as Fair Housing Month

April is Fair Housing Month and Mayor Debra Davison read a proclamation declaring the month at the recent March 18 meeting of Manvel City Council.

Also at the meeting, recognition was given to the 2018 Events Task Force Board members. They include Melissa Skillern, Derek Dalmolin, Lorraine Hehn, Brian Wilmer, Kim Bickham, Daunay Willis, Mary Ann Atkinson and Nicole Mitchell.

Council considered an ordinance amending the Chapter 5 Alarm Systems pertaining to regulation of alarm systems within the city providing a penalty in an amount not to exceed $500 per day for each day of violation.

Council also reconsidered action to approve a request for a variance to the subdivision ordinance section Additional Street Requirements and authorize the mayor to execute the development agreement for 15 acres of property bounded by Colony Loop (South), Lovers Lane (East), County Road 80 (West) and Stevens Road (North).

Council also reconsidered action to approve a request for a variance to the subdivision ordinance section Additional Street Requirements and authorize the mayor to execute the development agreement for property located at 7222 Pine Street and property located at 9825 Live Oak Court.

Council met at City Hall at 20025 SH 6 in Manvel.
