Three clean up events will take place soon all sponsored by Keep Pearland Beautiful and all benefiting the City of Pearland.

Pearland Waterways Cleanup, second quarter city clean up and Pearland Clean and Green are all planned events that encourage resident participation.

The first event will be Pearland Waterways Cleanup set for Saturday, March 30 from 7:30 to 10 a.m.

KPB is looking for volunteers of 14 years old and up to help with their first litter cleanup at Mary’s Creek. Volunteers will meet at Centennial Park at the Lone Star Pavilion.

The event is also sponsored by Keep Texas Beautiful and H-E-B.

The pavilion is located at 3219 McLean Rd.

Keep Pearland Beautiful is also gearing up for its second quarter cleanup.

The event will be on the official clean up day for Don’t Mess With Texas Trash Off Saturday, April 6.

Participants are invited to breakfast, and supply pickup from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Lone Star Pavilion of Centennial Park. KPB is providing a giveaway for those who attend the breakfast.

If participants cannot pick up their supplies, they can arrange to pick them up on another date and time and not participate in the breakfast.

Many groups already have an adopt-a-spot; for groups that do not, they will be assigned an area or a group to assist, depending on the size of the group requesting a spot.

On the same day, April 6, Pearland Clean and Green will take place with volunteers meeting at 8 a.m. at Pearland Town Center at 11200 Broadway St., Ste. 2751. This is the fourth Clean and Green event and was put together as an annual grassroots effort where residents of the city can participate in the biggest city clean up activity organized by KPB in partnership with Shadow Creek Outdoors Club.

At this event, residents can bring documents for onsite shredding and can also recycle electronics. Kids get treats and are rewarded for cleaning up and can attend a fun interactive workshop on recycling.

Local area businesses sponsor this event and are present with information and handouts. A stage program is also presented to showcase local talent in form of dances, singing, skits and other demonstrations.
