To celebrate the beauty of Spring, share ideas for creative landscapes and showcase local gardens, the Heritage Gardener Spring Garden Tour will be Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 in Friendswood.
Six private homes in the city will open their private gardens for the tour.
Homes on the tour include three in The Forest of Friendswood, one home with acreage off Sunset, one in West Ranch and one in Eagle Lakes subdivision.
The tour begins at the Marie Workman Garden Center and Briscoe Garden at 112 W. Spreading Oaks in Friendswood. Many activities will be at this location.
A large plant sale by Heritage Gardeners will be underway.
Vendors will be open both days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Garden art, artisan creations, jewelry, honey and bee houses, dog treats and more will be on sale.
In the Briscoe Gardens, four presentations/demonstrations will be given during the two days.
Orchids will be discussed on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., Pollinator Gardens will be at 11:30 and Gardening with Native Plants at 12:30 p.m. On Sunday, a presentation on Hummingbirds will take place at 2 p.m. The presentations are free.
Inside the garden center, visitors can view the 2019 Heritage Gardener Flower Show. Entries and ribbons will be on view inside. Admission is free.
Home tour tickets are $15 and are available now at the chamber and various businesses in town. They also will be available the days of the tour. Children 10 and under are free.
Businesses with tickets include the Friendswood Chamber of Commerce, The Cake Lady, Friendswood Frame and Gallery, La Casita Restaurant, Lary’s Florist and Design, Marrone Market, Phoenix Cleaners, Rancho Mexican Restaurant and Two Friends Gifts.
